On February 16 we received some very exciting news regarding our VPK Program! We are pleased to share this information with you.
The Florida Department of Education conducts a VPK Provider Kindergarten Readiness Rate Report each year. Of the 15 children from our VPK program last year, 14 were screened. Out of a possible score of 200, The Cathedral School alumni scored 192. The screening measurements utilized by the Florida Department of Education are the FL Kindergarten Readiness Screener (FLKRS) and the Early Childhood Observation System (ECHOS) which are administered within the first 30 days of kindergarten. SO... our former students did that well in their fist month of kindergarten!! We anticipate the same results next year based on the stellar year our VPK students had in 2009/2010!
In March, 2010, the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) visited TCS for an inspection. We are pleased to announce that our inspection yielded TCS compliant in all areas. We are extremely proud of our staff for their dedication to our students and keeping TCS the best preschool.
IT'S RE-ENROLLMENT TIME! Welcome packages for the 2010/2011 school year will be sent home on Monday, July 12, 2010. Please read all items in the welcome package, paying close attention to due dates and documents that need to be read, signed and returned to the school.
